MERSEY ROSE  RECREATIONALS NEED YOU!

play for us.jpg

MRRCC is an inclusive and diverse cricket club committed to providing opportunity for everyone to take part in - and enjoy - the game of cricket. We have an ethos of maximising involvement.

We're particularly keen to include people who are generally under-represented in club cricket, such as LGBTQ+ people, older players and disabled people. We don't believe age or disability should be a barrier to enjoying cricket. We understand sport has huge benefits for both physical and mental health and want to encourage more people to play for that reason.

We only play friendly cricket and that's because friendly cricket is the perfect environment in which to introduce new players to the game - especially if they are beginners - and ensures no-one ever feels under pressure to perform. it means everyone can fit into the team and get the opportunity to bat and bowl in a way they wouldn't in competitive cricket. Playing friendlies also means our players aren't registered with leagues, so if you're a regular player for an established club who wants to play some extra friendly games, you'll be more than welcome to play with us.

We're always happy to welcome new players. Whether you're an experienced cricketer or never played the game before, we're sure you'll fit into one of our teams. Whoever you are, whatever your previous experience of cricket, there's a place for you at Mersey Rose.

Some players can commit to playing every week; others have commitments and cannot play quite so regularly. As a club we do what we can to accommodate everyone, although clearly not everyone can open the batting or bowl downwind with the new ball.

We are a friendly, community club with supportive coaches who will help you develop your game. We have weekly outdoor nets sessions in the summer months, and indoor nets during the winter.

If you would like to play for us, please fill out our contact form or get in touch at merseyroserecs@gmail.com

Our regular training is as follows:

Disability training - Monday at Prescot & Odyssey CC (times to be confirmed)

Softball / Hardball team training - Wednesdays from 8pm to 9pm, Wavertree CC.
