Happy 90th birthday, Joe!
Everyone at Mersey Rose Recreationals would like to wish our chairman, Joe Crossley, a very happy 90th birthday. Joe has been facilitating inclusive, friendly cricket for decades - firstly, at Rainhill CC and more recently with Mersey Rose. His dedication to playing the game is matched only by his commitment to helping others enjoy cricket. Joe has been an outstanding advocate for widening access to the game, and last year was honoured by the MCC for his lifelong contribut


Club Chaplain appointed
Mersey Rose Recreationals Cricket Club is please to announced the appointment of its first-ever club chaplain, marking a significant and progressive step for the grassroots game. The role has been taken up by Gail Rose, an LGBTQ+ rights advocate and a lay preacher within the United Reformed Church. Gail joined the club midway through the 2025 season, with her first matches coming at the Pride in Cricket pro-disability festival — a fitting introduction that reflected both her
